My name is Sebastian Kleppe and I wasn’t allowed to watch cartoons growing up. Instead I was lucky enough to participate in SF Art & Film where I grew up watching gritty Italian neorealism and ponderous Swedish psychodramas. Beginning at the age of 13 I began making my own short films. Over the 6 years I spent at Art & Film I directed and filmed dozens of short films that went to festivals across the country as well as developing a crew of filmmakers that I work closely with.
I graduated from Sarah Lawrence College where I had the quintessential small liberal art experience. I focused my study around Film Production and Philosophy. Determined to learn outside the classroom, I looked nearby to New York City where I collaborated with peers, attended film festivals and interned at places like JCC Manhattan, Maven Pictures and Spacestation. These experiences have reinforced my interest in the power of cinematography and its ability to to construct and amplify stories.
While I have experience working on short films, web series, live content and promos, I am interested in expanding my experiences in the camera department for commercial, TV and narrative feature projects.
